So Rice Krispies treats are awesome. You know it, your kids know it, and although they aren’t exactly the next hot “baked” good like they used to be, they’re still pretty popular. So how do you step away from the basic square and jazz it up a bit?
Here, rather than squares, you make a variety of shapes out of the treat mixture. The photo shows ghosts, snowmen, and teddy bears, but you can opt for stars, hearts, monster faces, you name it. So you have a new shape for visual interest, but what about flavor? When the treats are still warm, roll them in flaked coconut, and then have your kids decorate them with a bunch of fun toppings. There you have it, an updated version of a classic treat that you can customize depending on your kids and the season. Enjoy!
