Fruit salad bound together by whipped topping: a classic dish right out of the 80’s that’s still served at potlucks across the mid west. We won’t lie, while we love all things healthy, it’s just so darn good it’s hard to pass it up, despite the fat, sugar, and chemicals that the otherwise good-for-you fruit is swimming in.
Thankfully, there’s a recreation that’s just as tasty (if not more so) yet is totally guilt free. In lieu of the whipped topping, use Greek yogurt, a natural, healthy alternative that is protein rich and low in fat! Sprinkle with a few poppy seeds, and you get the explosion of flavor in your mouth you remember as a kid, while comfortably telling your adult brain to sit back and enjoy.
