There’s just something about a basket full of fresh rolls right out of the oven that turns even a basic meal into an event. And with just a few tweaks to how you prep the dough before you bake off the rolls, you can create adorable little birds that are perfect for any time of year, but especially Spring and Summer!
Start with your basic yeast dough recipe, waiting until right before the final proofing to follow the post’s directions. Lightly flour your hands while you’re tying and shaping the dough to prevent sticking, and leave enough space in between the individual birds once they’re on the cookie sheet so that they cook evenly all the way around and don’t stick (thus ruining some of the shape). It doesn’t take long, but the results are stunning. Enjoy!
