Fish in any form is often much easier to cook than many believe, but giving it flavor without overpowering its natural, delicate taste isn’t always an easy task. Enter this recipe: only a few ingredients but big flavor, it’s ideal for anyone (even those picky kids).


  • Pat the fish dry and cut it into the shape of a fish. With a large whole fish, you’ll just need to taper the head area and cut out the tail at the end. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat a large skillet with olive oil, and then cook the fish, flipping it once, until it flakes easily with a fork. Transfer to a platter.
  • Use potato chips to create scales, an olive for the eyes, and carrot strips for the tail and mouth.

Light but tasty, serve this with a salad and enjoy!
