Whether you need a pick me up in the dead of Winter or you’re thoroughly enjoying your time outdoors in the Spring and Summer, a butterfly sandwich is always, always a good idea!

This one has gobs of protein, which is good for growing kids and active adults alike. The base is made up of bread cut into the butterfly shapes and placed around a crab stick, which is available in most seafood sections and often used in Sushi (especially California rolls). The toppings shown include tomato, hard boiled eggs, turkey, ham, and cheese, but you can really go in any direction with this. Swap out the tomato with cucumber for a bright green butterfly, use only egg whites filled with salsa for a lower-calorie option, or top a few pieces with sliced fruit instead of vegetables for the pickiest kid.
